Man with a Mission – Vancouver 2019 Concert

I went to a Man with a Mission concert last night and it was so much fun. The show was amazing. I first heard their song, My Hero, when I watched Inuyashiki. I loved My Hero. It was the start of my admiration for MWAM. It was their first time performing in Vancouver and also their last tour stop after a year-long tour.

If you watch anime, you may have heard their songs. They sang the theme songs for Log Horizon, The Seven Deadly Sins, Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans, Golden Kamuy, and more. I read online that the second opening theme for the currently airing anime, Vinland Saga, is by them.

I was lucky enough to get a guitar pick… TT_TT

Blurry photo, but the guitar pick says ‘Kamikaze Boy Man with a Mission.’

My favourite songs by MWAM are:

  • Winding Road
  • Fly Again
  • Raise Your Flag
  • My Hero
  • Chasing the Horizon
  • Emotions
  • Seven Deadly Sins

You should check them out~~

Megumin – KonoSuba Cosplay

I cosplayed as Megumin from KonoSuba for Clubs Day at my university so I did a cos test. The bandages took a while to do… The cosplay isn’t mine so I don’t have the shoes or wig. ><

I forgot to wear the gloves here. T_T

dead blog

Let’s be real here – there are a lot more interactions on Instagram. Instagram is more convenient to use and more people go on it. Research shows that people generally have shorter attention spans now.

I still see the value of blogs but newer platforms do have their pros as well. I don’t necessarily like that, but I’ll continue to use both Instagram and WordPress. As times change, we also need to adapt.

For those who genuinely enjoy visiting my blog, don’t worry. I’ve done this since I was 16 and I will continue to blog until I can no longer type. In my experience with WordPress, it used to be such a lively place. Y’all are all such lovely folks and I enjoy talking to you guys so much. It is a little sad to see that it is not the same as it once was (for reference, 60 people liking my posts and 30 comments on more ‘successful’ posts). Ultimately, I blog for myself. My blog is a space where I can express my thoughts, feelings, love of anime and cosplay. It is my diary and safe space.

BL Anime: Given Episode 9 Review

Given is a shounen ai anime from this season. It’s still airing and it’s one of the best Boys Love anime I’ve seen. It’s been a great show since the beginning, but episode 9 has been by far, the best episode yet. It was a whirlwind of emotions. It was heart-wrenching, yet so beautiful. The tears just wouldn’t stop when I watched this episode. I got goosebumps.

Synopsis: Mafuyu Sato has a difficult time expressing himself. He is bad with words and doesn’t understand his own feelings. He wants to learn how to play guitar and is able to when he meets Ritsuka Uenoyama, a boy who goes to the same high school as him. After hearing that Mafuyu can sing, Uenoyama invites Mafuyu to join his band, the seasons. The band is offered an opportunity to perform a live show. Mafuyu is given the challenge to write lyrics for a song composed by Uenoyama. However, he is struggling to write lyrics as he has his other stuff he needs to work on. With the live show approaching, will he be able to finish the lyrics on time?

He does – and the song went above and exceeded all my expectations. To understand the lyrics fully, you have to watch the show in its entirely. Yes, go watch Given. Even if you don’t understand everything because you haven’t seen the show, you can feel Mafuyu’s feelings in this song. Through music, he was finally able to express himself and say all the words he’s been wanting to say. It was a release of so many emotions at once, and I felt it.

If you do plan on watching Given, I don’t recommend watching the video because it contains spoilers.
