The following three photos were taken on October 1.

Once again, thank you Moya for the gifts from Taiwan and the clay supplies! I still remember the last time you gave me gifts. I’ll definitely use everything!
I thought I would write about the good things that have happened to me since quarantine. I’ve been at home since around March 16. I encourage you all to do the same!! Feel free to write in the comments about the positive things that have happened to you.
1. I’ve had more time to cosplay.
2. I’ve drawn stuff! I also quickly stopped drawing after that but I still drew three drawings and I’m happy about that.
3. A couple of blogger friends watched Yesterday wo Utatte after I wrote my Episode 1 Impressions post. Thank you! It always makes me happy when people watch the shows I recommend.
4. I’ve started working out regularly at home. I haven’t exercised like this since grade 11 high school… That was 7 years ago…
5. I’ve been video calling and voice chatting with my friends. We’ve played games, exercised, and watched shows online together. Before I mainly ate at restaurants with my friends so these are kind of new activities.
6. I have a penpal now. I wrote a post called The Significance of the Letter in December 2019 and now I’m writing letters to a penpal.
I’ve also mailed out a birthday letter and a ‘I’m thinking about you’ card to my friends. While I could have just written my messages online, I think there is something special about having a physical copy.
7. I’ve ordered a kalimba. I want to learn how to play Wu Ji, a song from The Untamed. A couple of my friends have ordered it with me. We’re going to learn how to play this song together.

I’m sure there are more good things that have happened to me this past month. Maybe I am not as pessimistic as I think I am. :p
In May 2017, I blogged about my marimo.
Two days ago, my marimo made a baby! Their names are Zoro, Luffy, and Chopper. The baby’s name is Chopper and Luffy is the parent. Yes, I can tell them apart…
May 2017
What’s up?
It was Boxing Day and I bought two long skirts from Uniqlo (and people made fun of them… They do not get my sense of fashion!!!). XD
I also bought Emoji stickers to decorate letters for my friends. I bought three cards the other day because I thought they were cute. I guess I am prepared. XD
Among other things, I bought these magnetic bookmarks (you can open and close them). As some of you guys know, I enjoy reading in my past time. This is my first time seeing magnetic bookmarks so I had to buy them. XD
I’m currently reading a book called Breaking Murphy’s Law.
I went to a Man with a Mission concert last night and it was so much fun. The show was amazing. I first heard their song, My Hero, when I watched Inuyashiki. I loved My Hero. It was the start of my admiration for MWAM. It was their first time performing in Vancouver and also their last tour stop after a year-long tour.
If you watch anime, you may have heard their songs. They sang the theme songs for Log Horizon, The Seven Deadly Sins, Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans, Golden Kamuy, and more. I read online that the second opening theme for the currently airing anime, Vinland Saga, is by them.
I was lucky enough to get a guitar pick… TT_TT
Blurry photo, but the guitar pick says ‘Kamikaze Boy Man with a Mission.’
My favourite songs by MWAM are:
You should check them out~~
Ace Attorney on Nintendo DS
Haruki Murakami’s Men Without Women – Review coming soon.
I find several four leaf clovers every year.
I went to Akimatsuri today, an anime convention. I bought all these Magi things and more anime things for $10! I think Sinbad looks so cool. ^^
I bought a Durarara!! book with character designs and architectural layouts for $2! I love anything related to Izaya because he’s my favourite character. ^^
I bought Death Note volume 2 for $2. ^^
I bought a lot of wigs, each for $2! I also got free wigs. ^^
I thought this was so beautiful so I bought it for my cell phone. I want to raise a cat one day. ^^
I took this photo of the lights with my camera.
I cosplayed as Yuki from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, but I’ll post cosplay photos in a separate photos. Thanks for reading. ^^
I feel really lucky sometimes because I won another giveaway, and it’s a great one! In my life I’ve won four giveaways but I used to find many four leaf clovers so maybe that has something to do with it. I actually don’t think there’s a correlation LOL.
The giveaway I won this time was hosted by our fellow blogger friend, Neha, who runs Biblio Nyan, a blog on books, anime, self-care tips, and more. I won their 500 follower giveaway and got a $30 gift card to buy any books of my choosing from Book Depository or Amazon. I got FIVE books from Book Depository!
1. Edogawa Rampo’s Japanese Tales of Mystery and Imagination
Jon recommended this book to me a while back so I’m happy that I finally own it! I read one of the short stories called The Human Chair, and it was honestly the most interesting story I’ve read in my life. I might blog about it one day, and write about Junji Ito’s version of it as well.
2. Edgar Allan Poe’s Tales of Mystery and Imagination
I’ve been borrowing my friend’s Poe book for months so I’m happy that I finally own my own copy.
3. Monkey by Wu Cheng’en
This book is also known as Journey to the West and is one of the Four Great Classical Novels of Chinese literature. This story was published in the 16th century and many anime, including Dragon Ball, were loosely based on this story. Some of the earliest Japanese animation were inspired by the Chinese animation of Journey to the West.
4. Desire by Haruki Murakami
Haruki Murakami is one of my favourite authors. I’ve read a number of his books. This is a collection of his short stories.
5. Edgar Allan Poe’s Tales of Mystery and Imagination
I’m giving this one to a friend.
I’m honestly surprised by how many books I got. When I found out that I won, I thought that I would get two books so this really exceeded my expectations. The books were delivered in a timely manner and I’m really happy with everything. Thank you so much Neha for everything. ❤
I celebrated my birthday four times this year with different people.
1st time
2nd time
3rd time

4th time
I also found out this morning that I won BiblioNyan’s giveaway!
I’m writing this post for myself, for my future sad days. When I feel sad, I can read this post and remind myself that I am lucky to have good people in my life. I tend to forget a lot of the things that people do for me.
I wonder if I deserve all of this. I’m struggling with this because I am no one special. I’m not used to this much kindness in my life. I’ve written before that I had a lonely childhood.
Thank you everyone. I hope that I am treating you with as much kindness. I don’t think I am, but I’ll improve on that. Maybe I am too harsh on myself, but these are my true feelings.
As some of you guys know, I graduated in May 2018 with my Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. I am back in school now, doing my second degree in Social Work. I still attend the University of British Columbia, which was my top choice because I can commute from home and I have friends there.
I’m done my first week and I’m enjoying it a lot. I want to become a social worker, and I feel really good and confident about this decision. 🙂 It’s a two-year program and I have all my classes with the same 50~ classmates.
I had lunch with Moya on campus today and she gave me gifts! These are gifts from her Taiwan trip. I love stickers – I stick them on my transit card, notebooks, electronic devices, and letters I write to friends. I also love No Face from Studio Ghibli’s Spirited Away, so I really like the No Face pen. Lastly, I got bubble tea flavoured chocolate. I’ve never seen that before and I love bubble tea. Thank you, Moya! ❤
