Cosplays (2022-2024)

I’ve posted these photos on my Instagram, but finally posting here on the blog… a couple years later. At this point, my love of cosplay was dying, so that’s probably another reason for the late post.

At the same time, I was getting more into dresses and wearing lolita-style fashion. Cosplay was feeling like fast fashion to me – you wear something once, and then you don’t really wear it again. At least with dresses you can wear them whenever you want. I didn’t want to spend the money on cosplays and also didn’t have as much space to store them.

But… I recently cosplayed at Sakura Con, and it was pretty fun. I borrowed a maid outfit from my friend, and I bought a wig and hair accessories for an Anya cosplay but repurposed the rest from my closet. This doesn’t mean that I’m going to cosplay a lot in the future again, but I likely will for conventions and other events. Will be posting those photos soon. =)

Montreal & Saint-Sauveur 2024

Thanks for the warm welcome back to blogging. I really appreciate y’all. ^_^

I went to Quebec for about a week for the first time. I spent about a day or two in Montreal, and the rest of the time was largely in Saint-Sauveur, a town in Quebec. I enjoyed my trip a lot; I love the architecture and attractions of Old Montreal (the churches, the ferris wheel, and just about all the buildings are beautiful), the food is amazing, the people are really nice and most of them speak English (so practically no language barrier), I can use my Canadian credit card and don’t have to worry about conversion rates, and I can use my phone and data without being charged extra – very practical reasons, but I’m a practical and logic-oriented person. Despite learning French throughout elementary and high school, my French is not good at all.

The ferris wheel was the attraction I wanted to see the most.

We went to a cool Japanese cocktail place and saw a rainbow the next day.

I was with a large group of people. We stayed at a chalet and ate at a French restaurant.

We went snowmobiling, and my favourite part of the trip was the Nordic spa. This is my first time at a spa. I got a massage too!

We went to a Sugar Shack! I learned that it’s only available for about a month in a year, and it’s unlimited food. The food was extremely fresh. I ate poutine and crepes too, of course, on separate days. My French teachers in school would always talk about the food in Montreal so I had to try them.

I finally got the experience swirling maple syrup on a stick after learning about it in elementary school, French class, haha. I saw the maple sap drip down into the buckets on the trees, but apparently that’s more of a touristy thing. They have more sophisticated methods of collecting sap now with wires. I hope to see ice sculptures in Quebec City one day, another thing I’ve learned about in French class. We also made dumplings together, and I’m pleased with how successful they turned out.

Headband Galore

In my last post, I talked about how I like to wear themed outfits with matching headbands. Here are some more moments:

Cinnamoroll

I wore a blue dress and white cardigan with my Cinnamoroll headband. My friend drew chibi Luo Binghe for me and made it into a sticker!

Kiki’s Delivery Service

For my birthday in October of last year, I dressed up as Kiki’s Delivery Service. I loved the tea cozies and bought my own for my froggy tea pot shortly after this experience!

Pompompurin

I wore a brown dress and matching Pompompurin headband at this brunch place.

It’s also fun to dress up at concerts and match with the theme or performer. I wish I wore my Haikyuu jersey when I saw SPYAIR at Sakura Con… but I was ready for Miku! I went to the Miku Expo in Vancouver this week. Unfortunately, they used a LED screen instead of hologram despite having the technology for it. But I had fun anyway. 🙂

Pumpkin Patch (October 2023)

Just sharing some photos from October LOL. My favourite Sanrio character is Kuromi, so I wore black to match with the headband. I have a headband collection and like to wear matching outfits. It’s fun for me, haha.

These are a few of my favourite photos with my friends and with my boyfriend at the time, now fiancé.

Climbing over the blogging mountain (back log) & Engagement News!

My last post was in September 2023 and it’s April now, so this was probably my longest break from blogging. It feels a little intimidating(?) coming back because I have about 10 posts I want to publish but I don’t know if there are people who care about my content anymore, so is there even a point?

It’s been a busy time for me. My family and I moved out of my parents’ property because they were selling it, moved into their second property (temporary), and soon moving again to the new house that they bought. And in late September, I will be moving again to my future husband’s house. That’s a lot of moving! And yes, for those who don’t know yet, I am getting married!

We have been dating for two years, got engaged in December 2023, and our wedding (late September 2024) will be close to our three-year anniversary. So, I’ve been busy with wedding planning, our engagement party, our engagement photo shoot, and soon to be busy with bachelorette trip planning and honeymoon planning.

But to backtrack, my fiancé and I are co-buying my parents’ second property as an investment property. I’m going to be a homeowner this month at age 27!

I also spent about a week in Montreal and Saint-Sauveur, Quebec last month and then recently came back from a long weekend trip in Seattle, Washington. The Montreal trip was a vacation for me, and I went to Seattle for Sakura Convention. Both trips were amazing, and I will blog about them separately. 😀

So… you can see why I’ve been so busy. It feels therapeutic to write this all out… Again, I don’t know if anyone cares LOL but for anyone who has made it this far, thank you for reading!!
