As some of you guys know, I graduated in May 2018 with my Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. I am back in school now, doing my second degree in Social Work. I still attend the University of British Columbia, which was my top choice because I can commute from home and I have friends there.
I’m done my first week and I’m enjoying it a lot. I want to become a social worker, and I feel really good and confident about this decision. 🙂 It’s a two-year program and I have all my classes with the same 50~ classmates.
I had lunch with Moya on campus today and she gave me gifts! These are gifts from her Taiwan trip. I love stickers – I stick them on my transit card, notebooks, electronic devices, and letters I write to friends. I also love No Face from Studio Ghibli’s Spirited Away, so I really like the No Face pen. Lastly, I got bubble tea flavoured chocolate. I’ve never seen that before and I love bubble tea. Thank you, Moya! ❤
Fall is pretty cool because of 1) my birthday, 2) Mid-Autumn Festival and of course, 3) Halloween!
I got some cool stationary on my birthday. I love it because I am a very practical person. I want to be able to use all my gifts. I got other gifts, but they aren’t shown here.
Happy belated Mid-Autumn Festival! The moon was so big and bright yesterday. A friend gave me this mung bean snow skin mooncake.

– Cardcaptor Sakura for Anime Evolution
– Yuki Cross from Vampire Knight
– Zero Kiryu from Vampire Knight
– Koshi from Haikyuu!!
– Kaneki Ken from Tokyo Ghoul (closet cos)
I’ll be taking a break from cosplaying after I do these. The reason is because I want to save money. I will take more photos with older cosplays so it’s not like I’m stopping completely.
Why do people read my blog?
This is something a couple of people have asked me. I have some thoughts, but I think it would be better if you guys could answer!
I took this photo of the LGBTQ flag at my school. Canada was the fourth country in the world to legalize same-sex marriage.
My experience with governmental restriction of media portraying same-sex romance
You may or may not know that I don’t really have a preference when it comes to reading manga – I read series on both heterosexual and homosexual relationships. Of course, that includes watching series. I was watching a Chinese drama and then found out that I could not finish it because China removed all the episodes. The making of the second season was halted as well. In the episodes that were aired, the kiss scenes were omitted. This censorship of media is unfortunate, but my heart goes out to people who cannot get married in their country. I think that the media restriction of films and dramas portraying gay romance says something about the situation in those countries.
The bubble tea place at my school is called PhTea, and the sushi place is called, Honour Roll.
I got a certificate the other day, and I felt proud of myself. It’s been a while since I felt that way.
Other members include famous psychologists such as B.F. Skinner, Albert Bandura, Philip Zimbardo, and even Dr. Phil. LOL. To become a member, one must have an overall GPA in the top 35% of their class.
Jian Rou is my legal name but you may stick with Rose =)
I remember I was unhappy about not being as smart as other people in my school. A friend said that I was already really smart since I attend the University of British Columbia. I knew that only a fairly small percentage of people from my high school year got accepted, but at the time it didn’t really make me feel better.
Justin Trudeau, the current Prime Minister of Canada – as well as two other PMs – were educated at my school. I realize that I am not in a bad place.
I still feel this way sometimes but I’ve learned to accept myself and be proud of myself more. I want to practice more self-love and be better to myself.
Note: I am not trying to show off and I am sorry if anyone feels that I am. I had serious issues with my self-confidence in general.
This post is a continuation of My Month in Pictures. I’m not sure if I will do this in the future, because I take too many photos.
I wore my Haruhi Suzumiya cosplay, but wore a cardigan with it this time (and tights instead of knee high socks).
A is so cute OMGG
Listening to: flumpool – 明日への賛歌 & Mayday 五月天 – 好好 (想把你寫成一首歌)
I ❤ flumpool & Mayday 五月天!
The month hasn’t ended yet, but I didn’t want to wait. >< This post is more personal because normally only my friends IRL see them, but I wanted to be more intimate with my blog? That sounds weird LOL. I take lots and lots of photos every month, so these are just more recent ones.
Class was outside today
