A Moment of Inspiration in My Hero Academia Season 4

In Season 4, Episodes 16-17 (or Episodes 79-80) Katsuki Bakugo and Shoto Todoroki attend a course because they both failed the second phase of the Hero exam.

I think that Bakugo and Todoroki are amongst the top five strongest students in the class. Even though they’re so strong, they still failed the exam and had to take an extra course.

Season 4, Episode 17.

I really liked this scene because it’s true that we sometimes feel stuck. It’s true that we sometimes have to go backwards in order to move forward. Some people seem to be moving forward so quickly, while others are moving slower. Even when we feel like we are not moving anywhere, it’s still part of the process. Improvement is not linear.

This scene was a good reminder for myself as I’ve been feeling this way for the past couple of days.

Character Spotlight: Tamaki Amajiki (My Hero Academia)

Tamaki Amajiki is an important character in My Hero Academia Season 4. His hero name is Suneater and his quirk is Manifest, which lets him manifest characteristics of the foods he eats (for example, he can grow octopus tentacles if he eats takoyaki). He is a student at U.A. and is one of The Big 3.

Tamaki is a pessimist. He has low confidence because of his perfectionist nature. When he is unable to achieve perfection, his self-esteem plummets. He undermines his own talents and feels nervous and anxious often. He was shy as a child but experienced a lot character development. He’s still negative but is a very precious character.

I wanted to do a Character Spotlight post on him because I think that he is the most realistic character in the anime. In My Hero Academia, a lot of the other students have this unrealistic optimism. Where they get that optimism, I have no idea. Maybe it’s because I am a pessimist myself, so I do not understand. In the anime, the characters train to become heroes and put themselves in life-threatening situations. It’s admirable as heck but it’s terrifying. Being a person is terrifying.

My Hero Academia Season 4 episode 8 focused on Tamaki and told us his backstory. Some of you guys might not like backstory episodes, but I thought that it was an awesome episode. Seeing how Tamaki was when he was younger and then seeing him fight against three villains at once (and succeeding, on top of that) was inspiring to watch. Life is hard, but anime can help motivate you to give things another try. XD

My Hero Academia Season 4 Episode 1 – Impressions

My Hero Academia season 4 is finally here! Maybe you’re like me, who has been waiting for this season since the last season ended.

Episode one synopsis: A reporter observes the UA students for a feature on how the students are doing in the dorms. In reality, he is interested in learning the identity of All Might’s successor. He already has a person in mind, but is curious to know if his hypothesis is correct.

I don’t think anyone likes lengthy recaps, so I’m glad that they didn’t do that this time. Instead, they made the episode interesting while also introducing the characters and their quirks. I found this really creative and by the end of the episode, I felt… hopeful. Hopeful about Deku as All Might’s successor and also hopeful for this season because of this great start.

The episode was also really, really pretty.

Changing Style & Musings

I’ve been posting a lot of cosplay pictures but I would also like to post more photos of me being myself.

Looking back at photos from just a few months ago (Sept 2017 – Jan 2018), I feel like I looked so young. I felt young too. I don’t really dress like this anymore. Bye bye, this style. (By the way, this is kind of a response or update to this post. I’m not sure why it’s one of my most popular posts hahaha.)

  • choker & Tokyo Ghoul anime necklace
  • beanie
  • hoodies & layers
  • pigtails & side pony tail
  • not shown: brown combat boots

I don’t know why my clothing style changes every few months. Maybe I get tired of the same style. I like to think that I’m always changing and evolving. c:

Now I like to wear wide black pants with Adidas Superstar sneakers. I don’t have photos yet because I just got into the style, hahaha. Even the jewelry I wear is different too. I don’t take as many outfit photos anymore but maybe there will be an update in the future…

Episodes 9 and 10 of My Hero Academia season 3 were amazing. I’ll watch every episode, but the episodes with villains are the ones I care about the most. If the episode’s focus is solely on the students, it’s not as enjoyable for me. In these recent episodes, I loved it how the professional superheroes came together to fight the villains. It was cool seeing the villains in one place. I am especially interested in the relationship between Tomura, my favourite character, and his master.
