Apple Bunnies

I’m not sure if you remember my post on My Top 6 Taiwanese dramas, but I would like to add a drama to that list! At number three, it’s Autumn’s Concerto (2009). It’s one of the most popular Taiwanese dramas.

This drama just gets sadder and sadder. I continue it because I know it has a happy ending but you need a tissue box ready. One tissue box might not be enough! It’s a love story and the events that happen to the couple are unfortunate but they are meant to be together. Fair warning: I did not like the male protagonist at all in the first episode but he becomes a really good person pretty soon.

This drama reminds me why I love Taiwanese dramas so much. I’m hesitant about writing a synopsis because I really don’t know how much to spoil. It gets progressively sadder so it feels like everything is a spoiler to me.

Also I’m bummed that I can’t find my Death Note books. I wanted to write a blog post on Death Note and use the books as references but I guess that’s not happening until I find them… IF I ever find them. TT_TT

Thoughts and food.

I’m starting to read Julius Caesar by William Shakespeare and the famous line, “Et tu, Brute?” has me shaken.

The theme of betrayal happens all the time in literature and in anime too. Take the song Vogel im Käfig from Attack on Titan, for example. When I listen to the song, I feel anger, betrayal, sadness, disbelief and acceptance. The song plays during my favourite scene in the anime, the betrayal.

Quotes pop up on the loading screen of a game I’m playing. This quote in particular was very interesting. It was cool seeing a quote from a novel I own.

“If you want to keep a secret, you must also hide it from yourself.” – George Orwell, 1984

Don’t worry, my life is mundane. Every time I write about a serious topic like this, there are always a couple of people who ask me if I’m okay, or if there’s anything wrong. I do appreciate the concern, but you have to understand that I think a lot. I’m not blindly consuming content and not thinking about it afterwards! No, I think about the things I read and watch.

P.S. I’m learning how to skateboard. Balancing is not an issue but I need to practice turning.

I talk a lot in this post!

Here’s something you may not know about me: I can fall asleep in one minute. It’s true. When I have to study I like to take 15-minute naps because when my phone alarm wakes me up, 1) the alarm surprises the heck out of me and 2) it feels as if I slept for two hours. Hahaha.

Well, I don’t overthink so maybe that’s why I’m able to do this. I can fall asleep to music I like too, but not if there are loud sounds outside.

The phrases that annoy me are, “How old are you? You’re still watching cartoons?” or “How old are you? You still have plushies?” & yes – people have said these to me before.

I AM 21 AND YES, I’M STILL WATCHING ANIME AND YES, I STILL HAVE PLUSHIES. Do you understand now or do you still need help? ROFL. I am who I am. I like who I am.

Here’s another one I hear: “You take so many selfies.” Some of my followers ask for more selfies, lol.

It’s super annoying when people try to lecture you on how to live your life when they are not in the position to do so. I’m not talking about employers, professors, managers or supervisors, authorities of law, or people who hold some sort of power. I’m talking about strangers or peers who think they know you better than you know yourself. Of course it depends on the context but if it’s something ridiculous like my selfie taking or my anime watching habits, blab all you want but I am not going to listen to you!

Bottom line: If my MOM does not have any problems with my hobbies and interests, neither should you.

I have to clarify though, the VAST MAJORITY of all the people I’ve met have been incredibly supportive of me and everything I do. I am continuously amazed at peoples’ acceptance, kindness and support. Thank you for that. ❤

By the way, I really like the story of The Happy Prince by Oscar Wilde. I think it’s thought-provoking and very interesting. You should check it out!
