It’s been a while since I’ve done a diary post

Congratulations to my friend who graduated! She was busy taking photos with other people, so I took some photos with my other friends.

Guess what?

I was wallowing in self-pity (I’m kidding!) and then it occurred to me that people have actually listened to my recommendations. Erased live-action, HIStory 2: Boundary Crossing, Cunning Single Lady, and Made in Abyss are just a few examples of this. Yes, I’m talking about you guys!! The best part? They enjoyed my recommendation.

That’s not all. Classmates and friends have watched shows I recommended such as Kaiji, One Outs, Violet Evergarden, Inuyashiki, Bloody Monday Japanese drama, Wotakoi and more. I’ve gotten nine people to watch Kaiji and counting. Maybe I have a knack for this.

You might have read my Why I Like Anime So Much post, in which I talked about my anime story. Never would I have imagined that people would listen to my recommendations, yet alone take interest in what I was watching.

Thank you for all your comments. I appreciate each and every one of them very much. ❤

I guess what I’m trying to say is that I feel refreshed, re-energized and recharged. I think I can do this.

I graduated!

As some of you know, I studied at the University of British Columbia in British Columbia, Canada. I am from BC and I finished my Bachelor’s degree in four years. I majored in Psychology and I will be continuing my studies at UBC because I was accepted into the Social Work program.

I do feel proud of myself because I graduated at the age of 21 by taking a full course load. I started university right after high school and you need a high average to get in. The Social Work program was competitive as well and the interview was three hours! Anyways, that’s enough bragging. I have bragging rights on my own blog, right? Right??

I like how the horns come out of the graduation cap. Thanks friends for the anime figures!

Thanks R for the flowers, card and presents! The graduation mug is very practical.

I talk a lot in this post!

Here’s something you may not know about me: I can fall asleep in one minute. It’s true. When I have to study I like to take 15-minute naps because when my phone alarm wakes me up, 1) the alarm surprises the heck out of me and 2) it feels as if I slept for two hours. Hahaha.

Well, I don’t overthink so maybe that’s why I’m able to do this. I can fall asleep to music I like too, but not if there are loud sounds outside.

The phrases that annoy me are, “How old are you? You’re still watching cartoons?” or “How old are you? You still have plushies?” & yes – people have said these to me before.

I AM 21 AND YES, I’M STILL WATCHING ANIME AND YES, I STILL HAVE PLUSHIES. Do you understand now or do you still need help? ROFL. I am who I am. I like who I am.

Here’s another one I hear: “You take so many selfies.” Some of my followers ask for more selfies, lol.

It’s super annoying when people try to lecture you on how to live your life when they are not in the position to do so. I’m not talking about employers, professors, managers or supervisors, authorities of law, or people who hold some sort of power. I’m talking about strangers or peers who think they know you better than you know yourself. Of course it depends on the context but if it’s something ridiculous like my selfie taking or my anime watching habits, blab all you want but I am not going to listen to you!

Bottom line: If my MOM does not have any problems with my hobbies and interests, neither should you.

I have to clarify though, the VAST MAJORITY of all the people I’ve met have been incredibly supportive of me and everything I do. I am continuously amazed at peoples’ acceptance, kindness and support. Thank you for that. ❤

By the way, I really like the story of The Happy Prince by Oscar Wilde. I think it’s thought-provoking and very interesting. You should check it out!

I guess I don’t have much to say in this post, except for the words… thank you. Some of you guys have stuck with me through thick and thin and it means a lot to me. I love you~

I feel quite content right now. I’m happy. ^^

My Dream Anime Con

When I bought my ticket online for Anime Evolution, I used Eventbrite. That was just a few weeks ago. The process went smoothly and I had a good experience with them. By buying my ticket online, I didn’t have to pay at the door. It was nice because I bought my ticket early and got a discounted price. I printed my ticket out and just showed it to the people who organized the event and registered on their site.

Alright, my dream con includes the one and only… EIICHIRO ODA, the creator of One Piece! I would love to meet him… That would be a dream come true.

I would cosplay as a One Piece character (not sure who yet) and I would want to spend the con with all my AniBlogger and AniTwitter friends. (You guys know who you are… ^^) I want all my good friends to be there too. It would be good if it was a private event that only my friends and I can attend so no one has to wait in line… Am I being too selfish? (Well this is a dream so…)

I would also want Hiroshi Kamiya, the voice actor of Izaya Orihara, to be there. I want him to talk in Izaya’s voice for me. I also want to meet the Japanese voice actor of Deidara from Naruto Shippuden. I’ll definitely need English translators there.

More people I want to meet are my favourite cosplayers, like Yuegene Fay. I want to take pictures with everyone. It would be nice to have a photographer who just follows me around and takes a bunch of candid and staged pictures LOL.

In the last two anime events I went to, I did not find a lot of anime merchandise I was interested in. That’s why in my dream con, I want a lot of One Piece and Izaya merchandise. I want cheap prices please… Can the ticket prices be free for everyone too? LOL.

A restaurant or food stalls would be nice. I always buy food nearby when I attend anime events but they’re always outside the convention location. It would be super convenient if there was a restaurant… Not cafe because that’s not filling enough. Real food!

The location should be in… Japan. Then after the convention I can explore Japan with my friends hahaha. I want to go to Ikebukuro and all those anime attractions.

Of course we need music so there should be our favourite bands performing there, the ones who sing anime openings and endings. Flumpool is my favourite Japanese band. I want Ryuta to sing in Chinese for me. ❤

flumpool2.jpg

What else… I want props outside and inside the convention building for photo-taking. Stuff like a cool-looking background or the Thousand Sunny (lol) would be good.

Oh! I also want a bunch of prize draws where everyone gets a raffle ticket and there are multiple prizes to be won. Prizes like… authentic nendoroids and One Piece flag, etc. Okay, that’s all I can think of for now.

Hope you liked this post!
