Scott recently posted his Husbando post and I expect Nabe to do the same soon.
I’ve been told that I have questionable taste in anime boys. The reason is because I like villains.
Izaya Orihara from Durarara!!
In 2018, I wrote a post called, Why I Love Izaya. You can check it out if you want detailed reasons as to why Izaya is my favourite anime character of all time. Izaya is an antagonist. He’s an underground information broker.
Bloody Monday is an amazing manga. The Japanese live-action is great, too. I love J in Bloody Monday: Last Season the most. That’s Bloody Monday 3, but I liked J since the beginning.
No surprise, but J is an antagonist. He loves melon soda, hence my username. He’s a genius and one of the leaders of an evil group.
Other Characters I Love:
I’m picky. Although I love a lot of characters (Click HERE for my 30 Anime Characters – Appreciation Post!) I’m not sure if I could call these characters my husbandos.
Juuzou Suzuya from Tokyo Ghoul
Juuzou is a Special Class Ghoul Investigator, which means he helps humans. I think the lines between good and evil are blurred in Tokyo Ghoul. As humans, are we supposed to view all ghouls as evil?
Xue Yang from Mo Dao Zu Shi / The Untamed
I ship Xue Yang with XXC so that’s why he’s not my husbando. Xue Yang is a villain.
Wow, this post is a lot shorter than I expected. Like I said, I’m picky.
If you’ve been following me for a while, you probably know that I love Kaiji and other FKMT series.
Chang and Mario would be on this list if Kaiji got a season three. I am hoping for it to happen…
2) Turtle from Rainbow
Turtle from Rainbow is the best friend one could have. He deserves so much recognition.
3) Ayanokoji from The Classroom of the Elite
I’ve written about Ayanokoji before, but he’s the most unfazed character I’ve seen. Having him as the MC was a breath of fresh air.
4) Seiya from Cautious Hero
Cautious Hero’s a funny anime. You can read my impressions of the first episode here.
5) Mafuyu from Given
Mafuyu’s voice is so good. I’m really impressed with his VA. I can’t wait to watch the Given movie.
6) Tanjiro from Demon Slayer
Tanjiro is so sweet and caring. I’ve written about Tanjiro before (click here to read the post). He inspires me to never give up.
7) Nezuko from Demon Slayer
Nezuko is adorable. She feels the same amount of care towards Tanjiro and she’s very strong.
8) Haru from My Roommate is a Cat
In my review of the anime, I wrote that in the second half of each episode, the story is retold from the cat’s point of view. Haru seems more mature than the human MC in some ways.
9) Naofumi from The Rising of the Shield Hero
Naofumi went through so many cursed events, which resulted in a great change in his personality. He went from being naive to cynical. He was the true hero while the rest did more harm than good.
10) The Queen from Shield Hero
Thanks to the Queen, Naofumi got justice and cleared his name.
11) Levi from Attack on Titan
Who doesn’t like Levi?
12) Izaya from Durarara!!
Izaya is my favourite anime character. I wrote about the reasons I like him in a post. I even have a DRRR ita bag because of him.
Erased is about a man who goes back in time to prevent a series of murders. He goes back into his body from when he was a child but everything else (memories as an adult, cognitive skills, etc.) remains the same.
18) Aizawa from My Hero Academia
This was a good episode.
19) Conan from Detective Conan
Like Satoru from Erased, Conan is also transformed into a kid.
20) Laboon from One Piece
One Piece has a lot of characters. In fact, there’s over a thousand of them. Here’s a few of them.
21) Chouchou from One Piece
It was characters like Chouchou that made me like One Piece so much.
22) Ace from One Piece
23. Luffy from One Piece
24) Juuzou from Tokyo Ghoul
Juuzou is one of my favourite characters.
25) Ye Xiu from The King’s Avatar
Ye Xiu is a cool protagonist. I really like “starting over” and “secret identity” type of shows.
26) Senku from Dr. Stone
Senku is a genius.
27) Reigen from Mob Psycho
I loved Mob Psycho, especially the second season. I don’t remember the context for this at all…
28) Tokuchi from One Outs
One Outs is a really good psychological anime.
29) Saiki from Saiki
The Japanese VA who voiced Seiki also voiced Izaya and Levi. I love his characters.
30) Twelve from Zankyou no Terror
The bike scene in this anime is amazing.
Two-thirds of these characters are main characters. To me, a likeable protagonist makes all the difference.
1. ALL the Straw Hats (especially Monkey D. Luffy, Roronoa Zoro, and Usopp)
It’s really rare for me to like all of the main characters in an anime. Most of the time, I like the villain more than the main characters LOL.
I know that a lot of people don’t like Usopp, but he’s one of the most realistic characters. So many crazy things happen in the world of One Piece. Who wouldn’t be anxious?
2. Portgas D. Ace
There’s not a single thing I don’t like about Ace.
3. Trafalgar Law
Trafalgar Law treats his crew mates so well. (He’s the one wearing a hat… LOL)
4. Buggy the Clown
Buggy was a villain. I only started liking him during the Impel Down Arc. Impel Down is one of my favourite One Piece arcs, even though Luffy was the only Straw Hat in the arc. It was the arc when I began liking a lot of the former villains.
When I watched Impel Down and Marineford, I looked forward to Buggy’s scenes the most because they were hilarious.
5. Caesar Clown
To be honest, there’s nothing good about this guy.
I think that the Punk Hazard Arc was one of the most terrifying arcs. Caesar Clown makes a great villain. I didn’t start to like him until after he was captured by the Straw Hats and Law though, hahaha. After that arc, he had some cute and funny moments.
I LOVE HIS LAUGH SO MUCH.
6. Crocodile
Crocodile was a villain that I started liking in Impel Down. I was really impressed when he helped Luffy during the Marineford Arc.
7. Mr. 2 Bon Clay
Bon Clay used to work under Crocodile. I didn’t like him until Impel Down. Bon Clay sacrificed so much so that Luffy could save his brother. I felt so much loyalty from Bon Clay. He’s truly one of the best characters in One Piece.
8. Boa Hancock
I didn’t really care for Boa Hancock until she started helping Luffy. I guess I like the characters who help Luffy and the rest of the Straw Hats.
Regardless, she’s one of the strongest female characters in One Piece and I think that’s worth mentioning.
9. Sugar
Sugar is a villain that worked under Donquixote Doflamingo. I don’t like what she did to the people in Dressrosa but for some reason, I still like her.
I like Usopp’s fights because they are really funny so I think that Sugar’s battles with Usopp probably left an impression on me.
About half of the characters on this list are villains, or former villains. I didn’t like most of these villains until after their arc ended, hahaha. My favourite characters are either really powerful or comic relief characters.
If you’ve watched or read One Piece, who are your favourite characters?
