On Idolizing Stars

X celebrity was seen leaving a hotel. He reportedly stayed at the hotel for eight hours with a 17-year-old minor. He is in his thirties. That’s all the news there is about that right now.

I loved X when I was in high school. My friend even decorated frames with his photos for my 18th birthday. I haven’t followed his news in the past five years due to moving onto other interests, but it was still a shock to read the news.

It made me think, is it okay to look up to idols? To love them and support them? We don’t even know them personally. I think it’s perfectly fine to love their character from their series but what about them as an individual?

Then I thought, the same happens to people we do know. People in our day-to-day life. Some people, including the ones closest to us, can betray us and surprise us with their wickedness. Is there a difference between this and when a celebrity does it?

Perhaps we should trust and love others until they prove to us that they do not deserve it. I wonder if this is too simple. Too positive..?

A Love Letter to One Piece

Dear One Piece,

I admit that I did not like you when I was in elementary school. I was turned away by the art style but in my second year of university, I gave you another chance. It was completely a spontaneous decision, but it’s one of the best spontaneous decisions I’ve made.

I also believe that I did not have the maturity to understand some of the themes at a younger age. I would not have appreciated the series to the fullest extent. Some people think that anime is only for children. That is an unfortunate misconception.

While the 900+ episode count may be intimidating, I do not have to worry about “missing” the series. One Piece is always there for you when you are feeling down or bored. I’ve spent many hours watching One Piece. I had a lot of free time. Not so much now because I’m always working, but all those hours watching One Piece were well spent. I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’ve learned so much from watching One Piece. I would love to travel, like the pirates in One Piece. I’ll work hard so that I will be able to do that. ^^

I dislike rewatching things. One Piece, however, is an exception due to how long it is. Eiichiro Oda is phenomenal at telling stories. It taught me what friendships can look like. I’ve cried numerous times and laughed so hard that my stomach hurt. Some days I feel nothing. I’ve felt everything at once when I watched One Piece.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you One Piece. Thank you Eiirchiro Oda and staff for creating such an exceptional series.

Sincerely,

Rose

I got a fan with the intention of hanging it on the wall. I didn’t buy it to actually use it haha. I also added this bamboo plant next to it. I bought the plant four years ago but never kept it in my room. Honestly I wouldn’t have brought it to my room if I didn’t have the fan…

The photo quality in the previous picture sucked so here is a close up of the fan. It really reminds me of a summer’s night. When I live on my own, I want to stare at the stars while sitting at my balcony on a summer night drinking juice… or something. I gotΒ this fan at Daiso for $2.

I’m going to buyΒ a cork bottle and fill it with paper stars next time. I’ll probably buy it from Daiso haha.

The sky was pretty. I took this photo from my balcony actually.

Listening to: flumpool – Over the rain. This isΒ the theme song for the live action of Bloody MondayΒ (season one). Miura Haruma is so handsome but I’ve always liked J more, especially in the third season of the manga.
