A couple of places I visited~

I went to Habit Coffee and Fisherman’s Wharf in Victoria, B.C. in October.

I wasn’t a big coffee drinker before, but now I love it. My boyfriend gifted me an AeroPress a long time ago, and now I can’t go back to drinking instant coffee. Still, I don’t think I have the patience to grind coffee beans by hand. I’m not at that level just yet.

Dahlias are one of my favourite flowers. I saw these at Richmond Country Farms in October.

I watched a video a long time ago about dahlia-growing contests in Japan. I think that it’s cool to have one thing that you’re super committed to. I don’t think I have that – I constantly switch back and forth between hobbies.

Have you noticed that I’ve been writing a little bit more in my posts? I got inspired by Minty’s long posts and writing style. I don’t think I can ever write one as long as hers, but this is a step.

Festival of Lights @ Vandusen Park!

I went to the Festival of Lights at Vandusen Park in early December, back when the daily Covid case count wasn’t too bad. It’s a bit worrying how high the daily case count is now in British Columbia.

Some of the lights reminded me of fireflies!

Travel Diary: Bowen Island

I went to Bowen Island for a couple of days with two friends. It’s really close to Vancouver.

I felt stressed these past weeks and wanted a break from city life. Prior to the trip, I had not been on an overnight trip in several years and did not hike in a really long time. I am a homebody but it was relaxing and refreshing to be in nature. I felt peaceful.

I think that when you’re on the island, you are on an “island timezone.” What I mean by this is that there’s no rush and there’s not much need to check your phone. I wonder why I check my phone a lot more in the city- perhaps because a lot of people have the ‘need to be productive’ mindset?

Day 1

The view from the ferry.

The view from the top.

I would say that the highlight of the trip was stargazing. There is only one street light on the island. I had never seen so many stars before. They looked so big and I could see them clearly.

Day 2

The lighthouse and volcanic rocks.

.

.

I got my friends to watch The Untamed with me after our hikes. They became really invested in it, which was great. Hehehe.

Travel Diary: Parliament & Butchart Gardens of Victoria

I went to Victoria, BC again. Last time I went to Craigdarroch Castle, Chinatown and Miniature Museum. This time I went to the Parliament Buildings (only outside) and Butchart Gardens.

The Parliament Buildings are really big.

The Butchart Gardens are quite big as well. I took photos of my favourite flowers. I must have missed the lilies because I don’t think I saw them…

The gardens are definitely my favourite place in Victoria.

Travel Diary: The Peak of Vancouver

I went to Grouse Mountain, also known as the Peak of Vancouver. I’ve been there when I was younger, but it’s my first time back as an adult.

The chairlift was probably the funnest part for me, and we saw a big bear while sitting on it. The view of Vancouver was pretty – the land surrounding the water bodies in the second photo is the city.

Travel Diary: Victoria Part 2

These are unedited photos I took at Miniature World in Victoria. Miniature World is a museum where everything is tiny. There were so many displays and admission is $16 for adults. For point of reference… imagine the Colossal Titan from Attack on Titan.

HAHAHA!

The details are incredible. Every display contains so much – it’s hard to capture everything in just one photo.

Day versus night at the circus. Some displays turn dark and they have cool lights.

Travel Diary: Victoria Part 1

I went on a trip to Victoria with the crew. I took these photos with my camera (not phone camera) so these photos are not edited, except for the last one.

I wanted to post a photo of this beautiful piano but unfortunately the picture I took is blurry. 😦

Chinatown

Chinatown in Victoria is tiny! A lot of shops aren’t run by Asian people either but the lanterns look nice. I regret not buying a No Face plush keychain (from Studio Ghibli’s Spirited Away). TT_TT There was a Totoro one too. I do think that Totoro is cuter but I like No Face more.

ONE PIECE!

Part 2 will be on Miniature World. I have a lot more photos for that which is why there are two parts.
