I went a thrift store after a friend said I might find anime related goods or materials for cosplay. Unfortunately, it was not my lucky day but it was still worth checking out because I picked up a couple of cool things!
I love thrift stores. They carry so much cool stuff.
After I bought the tote bag, I used it as my shopping bag hahaha. It was $1.99.
I have read all of The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, but this book contains The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes as well. I have read a few stories from it but I’m rereading all the stories. Okay so it was $4.99 so I told the cashier I didn’t want it anymore because I already read most of the book already… then the cashier changed it to $2.99. O__O So nice!
I like buying my own books because I write in them and highlight certain parts. The book was not written in at all when I got it.
I usually write my shopping lists on sticky notes, and once I’m done with them I use them as bookmarks HAHAHA. It won’t fall out because it’s sticky. I fold the sticky note over the top of a page so it is super secure. It doesn’t stick out, but it’s still easy to find the page.
Thankfully this thrift store was clean. I’m allergic to dust so I don’t go to thrift stores often at all. When I do, I always go to the book section for novels and manga. Then I check out the figurines because a worker told me they sometimes get nendoroids! They’re probably knock-offs but if it looks decent and costs very little, it’s not bad. (Pro tip: Value Village sells foam heads around Halloween. It’s an essential item for any cosplayer – used to style, cut wigs or for storage purposes.) Then I go to the plush section. I did see a Tuxedo Mask plush for $1.99 (from Sailor Moon) but didn’t buy it.Β Then I check out bags but I’m extremely picky so I usually just buy one or two things in total every time. If I’m looking for cosplay materials, I look at clothes and shoes! Thrift stores are life-savers for last minute cosplays.Β
Wow, I would love to stumble across anime-related merchandise where I’m at!

I usually buy anime things at conventions or online, but yeah getting anime things at thrift stores would be cool! Hopefully you find some things you like that are not too expensive. π

Thrift stores are the best! I’ve found a lot if really unique kitchen utensils/cups at them. I usually don’t have much luck with clothes at thrift stores though.

That sounds like an awesome find! I mostly look for clothes if it’s for cosplay. I have too many day-to-day clothes already haha

I wish we had stores like that here as well (but of course we donβt we never get the good stuff here π). So…I have to wait for cons to find interesting anime stuff.
Glad you had such a fun time, and I love the look of that bag π

I think there’s an antique store near my post office. I think it’s cool to save money and buy a lot from these stores.
